Chiefs Soccer Team’s Celebrates Senior Night

Seniors of the boys and girls CGHS Soccer Team are being featured tonight during their Senior Night Game vs Coral Glades

Tonight we shine the spotlight on the seniors of the boys and girls soccer team. Their dedication and shared commitment to excellence has fostered an environment of teamwork and sportsmanship. The ability to lift one another up and face challenges together both on and off the field has created exceptional senior role models, setting a standard for the rest of the team. Tonight we have the chance to honor not just their success, but their contributions to the program and are excited to see where they go next. Here’s what some of our seniors had to say,

“These past 3 years watching the other seniors has been really exciting and I'm really excited for it…I would like to tell the younger players to always keep working hard, it's a tough program to play in but if you work hard you're gonna succeed.” —Felix Azpurua

“Finally being a senior and having my own senior night is nostalgic because since I was a freshman I’ve looked up to the seniors. I'd say that the younger players should stay in it.” —Brooke Catronio

“Step up, play for the badge, I plan to try my best. I got a couple of offers, but I gotta look at them, I gotta work.” —Brennon Flagg

“It was pretty hard since I haven't played soccer in a year, so coming back from an ACL injury I was gassed, but it was pretty fun being on the field again…I hope to get into UF, January 24th, manifesting it, I want to study business…I would probably like to thank my dad, throughout my years of soccer he's always supported me and been there and my family, and all the girls that were out there on the field with me.” —Almendra Pinzas

“We feel great, we're just really excited to spend the last year together as teammates and we've known each other before highschool so it's nice to play together again.” “It's really fun seeing all the seniors playing together and being able to score” “We all got our goals tonight, so that's very exciting.”

“Enjoy every season and make friends on the team because it makes it a lot more fun” “I remember when i joined soccer, it was so fun and always remember the hard times” “We'd like to thank Coach Flack and Coach Fry” —Katie Ann Thomas & Molly Santos

“Finally having a senior night feels unreal, how time is flying by so fast. I remember being a freshman just yesterday. My advice to the younger players is to take it game by game and enjoy it.” —Deven Garcia

“Finally having my senior feels amazing. It was honestly shocking… I've been here for four years and finally getting my own was really fun. I think younger players should always remember to have fun with it. Sometimes the coaches can yell at you, but it’s all just fun.” —Isabel Whitney

“I’m very happy with the way it ended, it was a hard fought game…and to score the game winning goal with 2 minutes left was really good. Have fun, because it’s going to go by really fast, so enjoy every moment you play and just play your heart out.” —Brandon McBean

“I've been here for about 20 years, I've enjoyed every day. I hope that the soccer team has enjoyed their 4 years here and I hope that they continue on the traditions that they made here and the lifelong friends that they have and keep in touch with each other and always know that they are welcomed back at Cardinal Gibbons.” —Coach Montiel

We'd like to congratulate all of our seniors for their success throughout the years! Thank you to everyone who came out and showed your support on this special night!
